After milder temperatures this week, the Wichita area will be back into winter for the weekend with a mix of freezing drizzle and sleet in the forecast.
The freezing drizzle is expected to develop after midnight and then it will be mixed with sleet for the drive to work Friday morning. The precipitation should end with a few flurries Friday afternoon.
A trace of precipitation is expected for the Wichita area, possibly with a dusting of snow. North central and northeast Kansas could see 1 to 4 inches of snow before the storm ends.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for central and south central Kansas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The high temperature on Friday will be 26, with highs in the 30s for the weekend.
