Police said a woman was killed in an early morning drive-by shooting in a southeast Wichita neighborhood.
The shooting was reported around 2 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in the 8100 block of East Harry. The victim, 26-year-old Audreanna Hidalgo, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lieutenant Aaron Moses said detectives found that this was a case of intimate partner violence, and a suspect was identified. A 38-year-old Junction City man was arrested later in Junction City. Moses said police are working to bring the suspect back to Wichita and to execute a search warrant in Junction City. He said the suspect was on pre-trial supervision in an aggravated battery case, and Wichita police did not have any documented history of any previous problems between the suspect and the victim.
