A portion of Kansas Highway 53 will be closed in Mulvane starting Thursday to allow for construction of a new sewer main.
Mulvane officials said K-53 will be closed at Boxelder Street, and K-53 traffic will be detoured to K-55 Highway going through Udall and Belle Plaine.
The detour will be in effect for about two weeks if weather allows the project to move ahead on schedule.
