A Wichita man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting at a home in Derby.
22-year-old Demarc Burgess made an appearance in Sedgwick County District Court on a charge of second degree murder and a misdemeanor charge of battery. His bond was set at $500,000 and attorneys are scheduled to discuss the case on September 12th.
Burgess turned himself in to Derby police on Monday. He was wanted for a fatal shooting that happened early on August 28th at a home in the 1200 block of North Westview in Derby. 28-year-old Raul Aguilar III was found shot inside the home, and he died later at a hospital. The shooting was reported to be the result of an argument.
