Crews were battling fires inside a south Wichita building late Sunday night, and the fire caused heavy damage throughout the building.
The fire was reported shortly before 10 p.m. at Ray Event and Tent Rental in the 3000 block of East 31st Street South. Crews saw flames coming from the roof and the back of the building and then saw a number of small fires inside the building, and a second alarm was called in. Some streets in the area were closed for a time while crews were on the scene.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The damage was estimated at $300,000 to the building and $200,000 to the contents.
