Wichita Woman Sentenced to 57 Months for Pointing a Gun at WPD Officers

A woman who pointed a handgun at two Wichita Police Officers was sentenced to 57 months in prison.

35 year old Jennifer Miller of Wichita was sentenced Thursday for the March 31st incident.

Police found a stolen car in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn at Kellogg and Armour. An officer noticed Miller trying to open the trunk. When the officer approached her, she pulled a gun from her purse and pointed it at him, then aimed it at another officer close by.

The first officer fired a single shot and struck Miller.

She pleaded guilty on September 1st to two counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. Miller’s attorney told the Judge that she was high on heroin and methamphetamine at the time of the incident.
