The Arkansas City Police Department announced Wednesday that it officially has a new police chief.
Captain Eric Burr was named the newest chief of police of the Arkansas City Police Department during a City Commission meeting Tuesday night at City Hall.
Burr has been the interim police chief since former chief Dan Ward’s retirement on March 3rd. Burr recently celebrated his 25th year with the police department and with Arkansas City.
He began his law enforcement career in 1995 in Anthony and moved back to Ark City after graduating from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.
