A topping off ceremony was held Wednesday morning at the site of the new baseball stadium under construction.
A steel beam signed by those who are working to build the new ballpark was hoisted to the top of the park. It is the last beam of the structure to be placed.
The ballpark is replacing Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. The New Orleans Baby Cakes, the minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins is relocated to Wichita and will play at the new facility which is still under construction.
Construction of the ballpark will continue, with opening day scheduled for April 13, 2020.
