The Kansas Food Bank has received its largest ever operational gift.
Delta Dental of Kansas has donated $500,000 to the food bank which assists food-insecure families and children across the state. The donation will be used to provide fresh produce and healthier foods, such as low sodium and whole grains. The funds will also be used for the food bank’s summer programs in rural areas.
“Food choices have a direct impact on oral health- especially in children,” said Michael Herbert, President and CEO of Delta Dental. “We are honored to partner with the Kansas Food Bank to help distribute more healthy and fresh food options to those in need.”
The Kansas Food Bank serves 85 counties in the state. The food bank assists over 215,000 Kansans annually.
